Vegas is a superb audio editor as well as a non-linear video editor.

I can really move along at a grrrreat rate of knots using this software.

The talent can hear everything you say and you can hear them loud and clear through your phone. You can direct the session just like you were there and hear playback of everything. Once the session is over, the selected takes or mixed finished product can be sent either by MP3 over the internet or for next day delivery by Fedex. Many people use ISDN so that they can have their audio instantly but this entails the cost of two studios, one at your location and one at thetalent's location. If you can wait 10 to 15 minutes, you can save a bundle.

Otari 2 Track Reel to Reel   This is what I learned to edit on with a razor blade. For 15 years I "spliced and diced" and refined my editing skills. And still, almost every day, I am amazed at the editing possibilities with computer-based editing. It's mind-boggling.
