Emperor Rosko (1967-78) That's Michael Pasternak,
to you. Made The One by way of Beverly Hills, Radio Luxemburg, Radio
Monte Carlo, and of course Caroline. One of several jocks poached by the
Beeb when Caroline finally came to an end, along with Blackburn and Everett.
He did a variety of slots, including Saturday mornings, and
"Rosko's Round Table". Also, he did an
early version of the Roadshow on Aberavon beach. Famed for Transatlantic
mindblowing vocabulary all of his own (he
was, in his own words, a "toe-tapping, hand-clapping, lean, mean record
machine"), much imitated (and in itself
adapted from US jocks), but never equalled - on one occasion, after Rosko
Emperor Rosko (1967-78) handed over to the newsroom in typical style, the
reader said "Here is the news from the BBC, in English." Now broadcasts
from California to over 15 Euro stations, including Heart FM. All right,
cats and kittens?
