Dear Friends,
Since
"V"
Day is just around the corner, I thought I'd sharpen my quill and give
you a few "quill-tips" .
I sincerely hope that if you do have someone
special in your life, that you'll take the time and effort to show
them how you feel. Too often we spend our lives without telling the most
important person in our life how we feel about them. But remember, ACTIONS
speak louder than words, so do something to show them how much you
care.
Happy Valentine's Day.
Gordon
ps I've taken the plunge and registered
a new Domain name and will have the web site up and running within the
next few days.........
for all the latest adventures wearing my kilt
and for the newest poems emanating from my quill.
After such a successfull evening at Highland
Park church, I'm ready to lend my voice and personna to many more events.
So, if you can think of anything that might benefit from "A Wee Bit o'
Scotland in Texas" please let me know.
15 Ways
to show her/him you care on Valentine's Day
1. Married or Living Together
HER
Leave a Hershey's kiss on his pillow with
a note saying "With this kiss, I
thee bed." and just wait for his amorous
advances.
2. HIM
Instead of buying her a box of chocolates,
get a can of Godiva's drinking
hot chocolate and invite her over for some HOT
Chocolate !!!
It's absolutely yummy. And if you can find some
Scottish shortbread (Tom Thumb
usually carries it.) you'll have a very tasty
dessert. Or should I say pre-dessert : )
8. HIM
In her lingerie drawer, place an envelope
with either a blank check (if
you're brave enough) or an amount you think is
appropriate and tell her to go to Victoria's
Secret and buy the naughtiest lingerie she can
find. (Isn't nice to buy yourself such lovely
presents)
4. HIM
Instead of spending a lot of money on
that swanky restaurant (and finding
it packed with other people with the same idea),
find a secluded little creek somewhere,
or a park you like. Buy a bottle of champagne.
(Korbel makes a fabulous one that's
incredibly inexpensive which you can get at Centennial
or I'm sure any liquor store) and a
couple of plastic glasses. You'll have the best
time and the place to yourself. She'll be
impressed and nuzzling on your ear in no time.
5. HIM
If you haven't done it before, (or even
if you have) get some incense at
places like Whole Foods or Natural Stores or
Indian groceries. Before the lovely lady
comes home, light up two or three, one in the
living room, bed-room, bathroom. You'll be
surprised how much of a difference the sweet
aroma can make to giving a place so much
more atmosphere. You want to titillate her taste
buds, her smell and her touch. And, of
course, her sense of hearing. If you're not sure
what to say, or even just to lull her into a
dreamy state, you might want to try .............you've
guessed it "Sweet Nothings..Words
to Whisper in your Lover's Ear"
6. BOTH
If your woman/man happens to be reading
a book during this Valentine's,
replace their bookmark with one you make yourself.
Inscribe it with some very personal
loving endearments like, "Every time I look at
your lovely face, I read that you love me
and I just want to kiss you on the spine ....all
the way down to the bottom of the next
page. And when I get to the end of this chapter,
I just can't wait to see what's going to happen
on page........."
Married or Living Together
7. BOTH
The evening before Valentine's, after
she's/he's finished in the bathroom,
take her lipstick. First, draw a big red heart
on the mirror and within that heart write in
big letters , "I LOVE YOU. Underneath you could
write - HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY
!!! Then, you could write on each single piece
of toilet paper....I - L - O - V - E - Y - O -
U-
Be sure to start on about the 3rd or 4th piece
so she won't see it until she pulls out the
roll.
8.. HIM
If she means more to you than you can
ever say in your own words, get her
a copy of Sweet
Nothings.Words to whisper in your Lover's Ear
Married or Living Together
9. HER
Try to be first to awaken on Valentine's
morning. While he's still asleep,
give him his first Valentine's present:
kiss him on some very private places and watch
him awaken with a big happy smile on his face.
Before you know it, he'll be cooking you
a breakfast like you've never had before.
10. HIM
If she/he has voice mail at work, call
half a dozen times and leave only
one word of your message at a time. Like
"When
I
look
up
at
the
stars
I
think
of
you"
She'll have to write each one down to figure
it out.
11. BOTH
Have you ever actually written a real,
honest-to-goodness love letter to the
one you love? If you haven't, take a deep breath
and think of all the wonderful reasons
why you're attracted to this person and tell
them in your most thoughtful way. You'll be
surprised at what comes up. Be sure to start
a couple of days ahead of time. Then, either
make or buy a nice card and write it out in your
best handwriting. This will be a card that
will be treasured. I guarantee it. Just take
your time.
12. BOTH
If you have a used wine bottle, even a
coke or beer bottle would do. Write
a note like "If I was marooned on a desert island
without you, I wouldn't last but a few
days. I Love You."
Then take a match and very lightly burn the edges
of the paper so that it looks like old
parchment paper and quickly blow out the flame
(be sure you have a copy of your
precious words before you do this). Then, roll
it up pretty tightly and tie a nice piece of
ribbon around it. Use a needle and thread and
insert the thread through the paper and
leave the string hanging out so that's all that
can be seen. Then, at the right moment you
could say, "Look what washed up on the shore
of lake......."
13. HER
If he's tongue-tied and just has the toughest
time saying the words you would love to hear.
Or if he's just plain short on ways to tell you
that he loves you or just his feelings for
you in general, get him a copy of "Sweet
Nothings..Words to Whisper in your Lover's Ear"
14. BOTH
Find out how to say "I love You" in say,
maybe ten languages. Cut
out ten hearts from different coloured paper
and, on each, write the following: (write the
language on the reverse side, so you'll know
which is which.)
FRENCH Je Taime Gabriela [her name]
SPANISH Te Amo [her name]
ARABIC Ana Behibak (to a male)[his
name]
ARABIC Ana Behibek (to a female)[her name]
CHINESE Wo ie ni [her name]
ESPERANTO Mi amas vin [her name]
GAELIC Ta gra agam ort [her name]
JAVANESE Kulo tresno [her name]
LATIN Te amo (Notice any similarity
to Spanish)
NAVAHO Ayor anosh'ni [her name]
THAI Ch'an Rak Khun [her name]
YIDDISH Ich libe dich [her name]
Then, put these hearts all over the house,
or decorate a window
and, using double sided tape, stick them on the
window. She/He won't
have any idea what you've said and will want
to know so be sure you know
which language is which.

If the weather's cold on the morning of
Valentine's Day, fill a hot water
bottle, even a plastic bottle will do as long
as you don't make it too hot, and place it on
the seat of her car with a note saying that her
love for you warms you and you would like
her to feel warm on her way to work
Most of all
HAVE FUN !!!!!
What a treasure you are, Gordon!!!
All good wishes,
Judith

Gordon: Great email.....I hope you are sending out to all of your client list. Speaking of "a wee bit o' Scotland
in Texas"...........HERE'S AN IDEA.................Are you aware that there is a "Texas Bluebonnet Tartan"?Perhaps
you should consider investing in one. It could be a good selling point when you do yourweb site. I'm sure
you know Texans are extremely proud of being Texans and for the one's thatalso have Scottish
heritage.....this could be a nice addition to your tartan repotoire. You could have photo's of you on your web
site wearing both tartans.Don actually has 3 different tartans and sometimes it makes a difference to bride &
groom. Anyway....the Texas/Scottish connection could be a good selling point. "Scot proud to wear the
Texas tartan" Just a thought......like I said.....I'll have a lot of ideas....catch or throw out any you like.Trish--------------------------------------------------------------------------
